Bosch launches Heat Interface Unit course

Bosch Commercial and Industrial has launched the UK’s first certified Heat Interface Unit (HIU) training course, developed with LCL Awards to raise the standard of HIU installations ahead of the incoming Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS). Delivered over two days at the Worcester Training Academy and based on the new MEHNA Installer Training Guide, the course focuses on practical installation, commissioning and fault finding techniques that will be required under HNTAS.

Darren Danks, head of training at Worcester Bosch, said the pilot programme was crucial: “The insights we gained were invaluable, and the hands-on format has already proven to bridge a vital knowledge gap.” Installer Phill Rowley agreed: “These types of courses are very important because they help improve industry skills, ensuring correct commissioning practices that protect and improve heat network efficiency.”

Successful candidates will earn an LCL certificate demonstrating HNTAS-aligned competence. Bosch’s Pete Mills said the course was designed to embed best practice that supports the TS1 standard and the growth of green heating jobs.
