Making your membership pay

Membership of a professional body should deliver value in a number of ways. For CIPHE members, professional recognition, technical information, CPD and support are all important parts of that value. But there are also practical benefits that can put money back into your business.

For anyone regularly buying tools, materials or supplies, the member offers available through TradePoint and Wickes TradePro are good examples. CIPHE members can access 10% savings through both schemes, meaning that purchases you may already be making could deliver an immediate return from a benefit included within your membership.

The value can add up quickly. A 10% saving on £500 of eligible spend is £50; on £1,000 it is £100; and £2,500 of eligible purchases could represent £250 saved. The point is not that professional membership should be judged only in pounds and pence, but that your CIPHE membership and the professional standing it represents can unlock benefits that help reduce everyday business costs.

TradePoint and B&Q

CIPHE has partnered with TradePoint to give members 10% off eligible purchases at TradePoint and B&Q. For tradespeople buying materials, tools and other project essentials, that can turn routine spending into a useful membership saving.

TradePoint also offers 15-minute Click + Collect, helping members pick up what they need quickly and get back to work. Existing CIPHE members can access the offer by logging into their account and following the link to redeem the discount.

Get your TradePoint card through your CIPHE membership:

The TradePoint/B&Q offer excludes delivery, gift vouchers, concessions, Amazon products, supplier-quoted products, installation services and made-to-measure products, and cannot be used alongside another voucher or customer discount card.

Wickes TradePro

Wickes TradePro provides a similarly straightforward benefit: 10% off in-store and online, with no minimum spend. The scheme is designed for tradespeople and includes CIPHE member fast-track sign-up, TradePro Rewards and access to brand-partner offers, alongside advance information on deals, discounts and new ranges.

For CIPHE members, access is through the member area of the CIPHE website. Once logged in, members can follow the redemption instructions and sign up to TradePro. The lack of a minimum spend means the benefit can be useful whether you are making a major purchase or simply picking up smaller items between jobs.

Value beyond the discount

These retailer offers are only part of the wider package available to CIPHE members. Membership also provides access to technical resources, CPD, professional recognition and a range of services and offers designed to support members throughout their careers.

It is easy to join an organisation for one reason and overlook benefits that become available later. If you have not reviewed the full range recently, it is worth logging into your CIPHE account and taking another look. A benefit you are already entitled to may save you time, reduce business costs, or simply make the working day a little easier.

Professional membership will always be about much more than discounts. But if you are already spending money with the retailers involved, there is little reason not to make your membership work harder for you.

Make sure you’re using all your CIPHE member benefits – log in to your member account and visit Benefits & Offers to see the current member package and redeem available offers.
