InstallerSHOW and Heating Installer of the Year
CIPHE at the InstallerSHOW
After a two-year hiatus, it is hard to express how fantastic it was to actually get out and meet people again at this year’s InstallerSHOW, held at the Coventry Building Society Arena at the end of September.
Moving quickly on from the experience of attempting to collect a van hired from Europcar (not high on my personal recommendation list) and then setting up the stand, once the event got underway, there was a real buzz around the venue, and we had a great presence afforded to us by the Installer organising team.
For the first time, we partnered with a number of our Industrial Associate Supporters to run a competition that would get visitors to the show engaging with all of our exhibition stands. Any last-minute doubts about how bingo was going to go down with plumbing and heating engineers were soon dispelled by the regular flow of traffic coming our way.
Industrial Associate Supporters involved provided some amazing prizes that we are now in the process of distributing, which is no small task as we ended up with 32 different prize winners! My only remaining problem? I think bingo might be a one-time hit so what do we do next year? Answers on a postcard (or to the email address above) please…
Heating Installer of the Year Awards 2021
The CIPHE is a supporter of the Heating Installer of the Year Awards, and 2021’s winner was announced at the InstallerSHOW.
Whilst, of course, huge congratulations go to this year’s winner, Grant Gundelfinger from Yorkshire, I must admit that I did have my fingers crossed for CIPHE member, Paul Clark EngTech MCIPHE of Hoylake. So, I was both delighted and disappointed to see him finish as runner-up. Well done, Paul!
Speaking of his achievement, Paul said: “I was so proud winning the North West regional title, but to come runner-up in the national finals is something I never imagined would happen. I must admit it was tough, but I am very passionate about my work and to be recognised by top names in the industry, as well as by the public, for what I’ve achieved so far is incredible.”
I must also mention Carl Ladd of Leamington Spa and Benjamin Lee of Salcombe, who won the Rising Star and Sustainable Installer Awards, respectively.
Celebrating the best of the plumbing and heating industry is of huge importance to the CIPHE and I hope that more members will be involved in next year’s competition(s).
